Show Synopsis

This psychological dark comedy follows Evie, a young waitress, who grapples with reality during a chaotic dinner rush at her pizza restaurant. In dealing with horrible customers, a micromanaging boss, and an unexpected visit from someone in her past, Evie’s built up trauma begins to boil over and her perception of reality becomes disillusioned.

Character Breakdown

Principle Roles (in order of appearance):

Evie: In her early to mid-20’s. Alternative appearance and style. Soft spoken and naive to the world but has a hard edge and is easy to crack. Traumatized and burdened with deteriorating mental health.

Homeless Guy/Max: Older in 30’s range. Played by the same actor. Homeless: Dirty and Distressed, struggling financially, mentally, and emotionally. Can clean up well and play charming and manipulative Max. Multi-faceted and can play a wide range of characters.

Frank: Mid to Late 20’s. Burnout and tired of his job. Wants to get out of job and his current life situation. Comedic Relief. (Will be in a physically active role)

Bartender: Mid to Late 20’s. Open to All Gender identities. Active Character with slight alternative appearance. (Will be in a physically active role).

Pizza Cook: 18 to Mid 30’s. Open to All Gender identities.

Justin: Mid 30’s. Sweaty and gritty character. Very unhygienic character with rashes and stress boils. Washed up restaurant lifer. Slightly Perverted. (Moderate to Heavy Special Effects makeup).

Child: 6 – 10 years old. Open to All Gender identities. Comedic Relief. (Will have a role where they express explicit vocabulary).

Host: 18 – 25. Open to All Gender identities. 

Older Man (Husband): 50 to 60’s, off-putting man. Self-centered and arrogant, narcissistic.  Married to the Older Woman.

Older Woman (Wife):  50 to 60’s. Complacent, non-talkative. Let’s Husband take the lead but just as egotistical as her husband.

Sophie: 18. Can be an older actor but young fresh out of high school look. Naive blonde. Valley girl type.

Customer 1: 20’s – 30’s. Frat boy and country club type. Accompanied by misogynistic friends. 

Secondary Characters/Non-Speaking:

Runner: 20’s to 30’s needs to be agile and okay with physical activity.

Mother: in 40’s, judgemental with an attitude problem, and sick of husband.

Father: in his 40’s. Casually the Perverted type, having marital problems

Customer 1’s Friends: 20’s – 30’s. Frat boy and country club type. Misogynistic friends. 


Customers: 10 – 15 people. All age categories.

Servers/Hostess: 4-5 Servers. 18 – 27

What To Prepare

Zoom Audition Instructions:

We will start off the Audition asking you to slate your name for the record. (If you have a resume and headshot available, please send it in prior to your Audition.) Additionally we would like to hear the roles you are interested in.

Then, we will move on to a monologue of your choice. Please keep in mind we would like to see something that relates to the themes of the film. As such, we would love to see monologues that reflect the essence of the film. Those can fall along the lines of dark comedic or dramedy. Please try to keep the performance under 2 minutes.

If you are selected for a callback, please keep an eye out as we will contact you through the email used to set up the Audition. (Keep in mind, Callbacks will be in person after our first few rounds of virtual zoom auditions).
