Eleno is a fascinating historical play put together from the trials of the Spanish Inquisition about an individual who was born a female slave in Spain, but who expelled male organs when giving birth at 15. They lived as both a woman and a man, taught themselves to read, and passed the test to become a physician without any schooling. When brought before the Inquisition, they defended their state by referencing Plato and Augustine as proof that intersex people have always existed.
