The gift of gab could one teenager’s ticket to success when Greasepaint Youtheatre presents the musical production of DEAR EDWINA, May 10 – 19, 2013.

Thirteen year-old Edwina Spoonapple would do just about anything to be a part of the Kalamazoo Advice-a-palooza Festival. While her siblings both have proof “up on the fridge” of their accomplishments, poor Edwina has nothing. When a talent scout from the convention visits her hometown of Paw Paw, Michigan, she trots out her musical advice giving shows live from the family garage in hopes of finding her place in the spotlight.

Teatro Bravo Presents AMERICAN VICTORY In Its New Venue

Teatro Bravo’s presents a reprise performance of a new work depicting local athlete Henry Cejudo’s rise to Olympic gold American Victory is an immigrant’s tale of dedication, determination and desire. American Victory, adapted from the book American Victory by Henry Cejudo with Bill Plaschke is a new play by Jose Zarate depicting the life of Olympic wrestler Henry Cejudo. Teatro Bravo presents this special performance of American Victory March 8th and 9th at 8pm at the new Black Theatre Troupe Performing Arts Center 1333 E. POSTPONED: Black Theatre Troupe will present “Such A Time As This” Later In the Season

David Hemphill, BTT’s executive director, released the following statement:

“This decision by the BTT Board of Directors was made in an effort to allow the company to direct all energies and resources into the completion and opening of its new facility. As the completion date of the facility became very fluid and began to be pushed back, it became evident to BTT that they would have limited administrative and rehearsal facility choices necessary to mounting a production.
